CARL AHRENS

Carl Henry Ahrens (1862-1936) was one of Canada's most distinctive and underappreciated landscape painters. A contemporary of both Toronto's late Victorian artists and the Group of Seven, Ahrens is best known today for his atmospheric depictions of the old growth forests of southern Ontario.
